Shoe of the Day | Rodarte Sand Art Bootie

I'm always leery when fashion designers go into the footwear category because translating a clothing designer's aesthetic to footwear beautifully can take a bit of time but the Mulleavy sisters from Rodarte have seamlessly....actually stunningly made the transition. Taking inspiration from an art project staple - sand art, Rodarte's solo first footwear collection is drop dead amazing. The above is just one of the Rodarte Sand Art Booties from their collection. Inspired, by Australian landscapes, the chunky, molded resin heels are filled with colorblocked layers of earthtoned sand and feature thick straps of leather. Some bootie styles feature a t-strap silhouette and come in bold prints like the ever popular aztec print.

Where can you get our hands on these? Run, don't walk to Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys, Jeffrey New York or Opening Ceremony.
