Converse John Varvatos Hi-Top Trainer

There's one sneaker that looks better all beat up and that's the Chuck Taylor Al Star from Converse.  Since he started collaborating with them to remix the American sneaker classic, the icons have undergone a downtown rock n roll redux.  His new hi-top trainer for Fall/Winter forgoes the double zip from previous seasons and now places it horizontally across the back of the shoe above the heel.  The outcome is all cool and still keeps that downtown vibe that is essentially Varvatos.  Available now in a subtle camo print at American Rag.

Vintage Shoe Company Issac Buckle Boot

You can swing the Heritage resurgence in mens fashion in the way of the dapper or the dusty.  The M65 jackets, nubbly tweed blazers and slim thin-waled cords can be dressed up with brogues or made slacker cool with such a boot as Vintage Shoe Company's Issac Buckle Boot.  The rustic appearance of the taupe-grey suede and durable wraparound buckled straps are only anchored in refinement by the sturdy well-made construction and downtown chic appeal of the sumptuously slouchy 8" shaft.  Perhaps, in this case, the dusty refines what's dapper.  Available now at American Rag Cie.
