Birkenstock Arizona Leather Sandal

These sandals certainly aren't new, but the way fashion works is that it creeps into our psyches as revived based on how they're presented to us.  Birkenstock's Arizona Leather Sandal got a skeptical look from me when they showed up on the runway with socks underneath last fall for the Spring 2014 shows.  However, they look fresh somehow considering the purist and modern trend in fashion lately.  They were clearly footwear that looked comfortable and could be great depending on how you wore them.  You have to almost not think too hard.  I like to think of them as the more grown version of a sport slides.  J Crew has collaborated with them here in a cool patent leather model that would look great with a breezy pullover or shrunken sweatshirt and trim Bermudas.  Selfridges in the UK has them here in a clean and season appropriate white leather that could only look cooler with cut off distressed denim or sun-bleached khakis and an easy v-neck tee.  Switch it up this season with new life to a familiar solid shoe.
