Puma Suede 50 X Staple Sneaker

You kind of can't celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Puma Suede and not include a man who made his mark on streetwear and sneaker branding.  Jeff Staple, known for his style influence and his infamous little pigeon, has teamed up with Puma to celebrate 50 years of their Suede model with this collaboration.  This Suede 50 features a frost grey suede upper, an ombre foil leather Formstrip, pony hair eyelet and heel panels and Georgia peach accents on the heel, tongue and on the extra pair of laces.  This is a crisp and versatile pair of Pumas to for sure cop.  The Suede is a classic silhouette that looks great with everything from sweats to trousers to trackies to denim.  The Puma Suede 50 X Staple Sneaker is available tomorrow November 8 at Puma.com and at select Puma stores nationwide.

Puma X Karl Suede Classic Sneaker

How fitting when classic honor each other.  Puma, the iconic footwear brand, has teamed with the tenured icon behind Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld.  Here is a sneaker from that collabo, the Suede Classic.  The classic Suede silhouette features the back suede formstrip, white leather upper and is decked out with the designer's infamous dark shades in removable molded rubber affixed by studs right over the laces and branded with the Puma Fastcat.  The rear heel features a silhouette of the designer's likeness for a clean and great sneaker that is as cool & classic as it is edgy & modern.  Available now at EndClothing.com.

Puma X Paul Stanley Suede Sneaker

An eccentric shoe can sometimes seem a bit too over that top but that's not the case here.  Puma has a winner with the Paul Stanley of KISS remix of their iconic Suede Sneaker.  The upper is classic slick zebra print on crisp suede with a leather PUMA Formstrip.  The heel panel is a vibrant bright red, a perfect contrast to the graphic back and white.  This is such a cool pair to own and rock on days when you just want to chill or bring out your inner rocker.  Available now at Puma.com.

Puma X Bradley Theodore Suede 50 Sneaker

With all the excitement for streetwear these days, it's still important to note that before there were lines around the corner for graphic tees and thousand dollar oversized hoodies, there was the 'make something out of nothing' voice of the street.  The realness, the unapologetic and of course those who will always covet it and want a piece what they haven't been privy to is what has driven streetwear as a wearable rebel yell of the youth and their culture.  It's with this on the brain that has led the iconic team at Puma, who has always served as a canvas for much of the political and cultural angst of creative youths, to team up with Bradley Theodore, the passionate artist whose painting style is inspired by intense mood, culture, the streets and it's energy.

The Puma X Bradley Theodore Suede 50 enters the scene as a vibrant sneaker that both celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Suede model and the characteristic verve of Theodore's expression.  The upper features abstract swaths of pink, blue and red printed onto a back of black suede.  The woven laces mirror the colors of the upper and the translucent outsole creates a neutral harmony to balance the cool movement of the upper which, as Theodore says, was inspired by the very act of painting itself.  Sealing the deal are details like the artist's signature on the lateral side of each sneaker in gold and a vibrant skull replacing the 'fastcat' branding at the heel of each shoe.

This collaborative Suede 50 sneaker which includes apparel is available now at select Puma retailers and at Puma.com.

PUMA Suede 50 x XO Mid Cut Boot

Puma doesn't quit!  Why should they?  They've been mashing together the world's of music & culture   with sport and innovation for decades and it's always inspiring and provocative.  Here is a crisp shoe that's part of an on-going collaboration with the suave Canadian crooner The Weeknd.

The Suede 50 x XO Mid Cut Boot reminds me of the beloved Puma Sky-Hi 2, however in the hands of The Weeknd, this mid-silhouette gives you classic and tech in one fell swoop.  The pack comes in three options of a black suede & white suede both with tonal trim and black suede with white trim. Details like twill banding with black metal side-release closures across the upper toe-box and double-wrapped across the throat give this pack a tech-military handsome edge while playing up the familiar classic cleanliness of the Puma Suede with the iconic leather Foamstrip.
More unique details like the 19 and 68 on the respective tongues of each shoe in the pair together with the concrete speckled sole add a fresh cool-factor to this pack and make this a sure cop for sneaker-heads and Puma enthusiasts alike.  The pack is available tomorrow August 11th at select Puma retailers and on Puma.com.

Puma Suede 49th Anniversary

On October 16, 1968, a champion used a classic as protest and platform.  It was on that date in 1968 at the Summer Games in Mexico City that American athlete & Olympian Tommie Smith broke the 200m World Record in Puma Spikes and while receiving his award, wore black socks and gloves and triumphantly and defiantly raised his fist in consciousness while holding a Puma Suede sneaker in the other.  Shoeography salutes the efforts and stand of Tommie Smith on this day to bring the consciousness of American equal rights and equality to the worldwide public stage.  The above campaign featuring Mr. Smith kicks off a year long 50th Anniversary celebration of the Puma Suede.  The drop releases November 4th and will be available at Puma.com.
