When it comes to shoe size, we're pretty lucky that we are the average size. Sometimes it's a pain because wearing the average size means its more likely to be sold out but stock is usually replenished and available but there are several women who are not so lucky. We're talking about those of you who wear uncommon shoe sizes, whether they may be smaller than the average or larger than the average. But no need to worry ladies, there's light at the end of this shoe size tunnel. We're here to introduce you to Autograf New York, a brand of Italian women's designer shoes that's available in sizes 4 to 13.

One of our favorite styles is the above Autograf New York Regina Smoking Slippers. The stylish flats shouldn't be confused with ballet flats. Smoking slippers offer casual yet luxe look, and the Regina flats boasts soft, supple Nappa leather, comfortable yet chic slip-on silhouette, distinguished pointed toe, goldtone hardware on heel cup, and a 1/2" heel, and traditional smoking flat details such as a raised vamp, and side notches. The Regina Smoking Slippers are available in the above Nude Metallic Nappa, Black patent, Red and Denim Suede, and Leopard Printed Pony Hair. All colors are currently on sale for $196.00 (down from $296.00), and are available in sizes 5-12. Since the shoes are all Italian crafted, they are all medium wide, so if you do have wide feel, we recommend going up half a size. Discover these and more on www.autografnewyork.com, or head over to Harry's Shoes in Manhattan, or VCurated, and SHA-FA boutiques in Brooklyn.

I had the opportunity to speak to Autograf New York's award-winning shoe designer, Monika Kusinska-Paez, about the new brand (which launched last year), and the difficulty for women with uncommon shoe sizes finding beautiful, quality footwear in their size. As a woman who wears an uncommon shoe size herself (she wore a size 11 at age 17), with very limited access to fashionable, and comfortable shoes in her homeland of Poland (as a teen, she relied on the black market to fulfill her need of larger sized, fashionable footwear styles), and a footwear industry resume that includes Ann Taylor Shoes, Fossil, Heritage Shoe Company, and Vince Camuto, you can rest assure your feet are in good hands.

Monika knows the pain of having big feet, having surgery at age 23 from wearing heels that focused more on fashion than comfort. After years in the industry, she decided a change must be made. With her years studying fashion, and footwear from industry greats, traveling several countries visiting footwear factories, and a mantra that "shoes must not only look good, they must fit well, and be comfortable", she was ready to debut her collection. Monika self tests all her shoes, walking for an entire day in each style to make sure you get the most comfortable experience.
