Melissa Shoes X Vivienne Westwood Fall 2016 at London Fashion Week
We've been drooling over these beauties ever since we previewed them earlier this year. It's official, Brazilian plastic footwear brand Melissa Shoes just cannot do wrong. Whether it's with their standard collection, or their hugely successful designer collaborative collections. Once again they've blown us away with their latest drool-worthy must-have shoes. For the latest installment of their collaboration with iconic fashion designer and punk maven, Vivienne Westwood, they welcome the Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa Shoes Rocking Horse Ballerina.
Some of you may recognize this silhouette, and you should. The Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa Shoes Rocking Horse Ballerina is a reinterpretation of Westwood's iconic shoe design originally introduced on her runway in 1985, 30 years ago! The re-imagined style is made in Melissa Shoes' signature, recyclable plastic with a faux-wood platform in Vivienne Westwood's original cut-out construction inspired by vintage wood horses. Beautiful satin ribbons lace-up the ankle and calf for the ultimate tribute to the design's 30-year anniversary, and the punk rock movement's 40th anniversary.
Coinciding with the release, the collaboration has launched an eye-catching installation honoring the footwear style at the Galleria Melissa in London, during London Fashion Week. The vibrant and dazzling installation comes complete with a life-size version of the Rocking Horse that guests are encouraged to ride.
The en pointe design is offered in four classic colorways: red, black, white, and grey, as well as in a limited edition rose gold hue.
The Vivienne Westwood Anglomania + Melissa Shoes Rocking Horse Ballerina retails for $250.00 is now available at Melissa Galerias worldwide, and online at www.shopmelissa.com.
